Neurodiversity Assessments

Cost estimate: $1600 to $1900 + GST

Assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): $1600 + GST

Assessment for both conditions: $1900 + GST

Please note we currently only accept referrals for ADHD assessment, completed by one of our associate providers. We are not currently providing autism assessments.

Bespoke packages are offered for more complex assessments (e.g., where there are additional cognitive and/or mental health needs that require assessment). Your clinician will discuss this with you if it seems this is needed.

  • The baseline cost includes approximately 2 hours of face to face assessment; 1 hour discussion with a person who knows you well; use of appropriate psychometric measures; a 1 hour feedback session; and, a brief report.

  • If diagnostic criteria are not met, your clinician will provide you with the option of requesting a short summary of the assessment findings instead of a full report, which may reduce the total cost.

  • In addition to offering diagnostic opinion, we aim to help our clients understand the range of factors that led them to seek out assessment of a neurodiverse / neurodevelopmental condition. This means we may offer a diagnostic opinion or explanation that is different from a neurodiverse condition.

  • If we believe there is another condition contributing to your needs that requires significant additional assessment, we will discuss this with you. Additional assessment is generally charged at our standard clinical rate ($200 + GST per hour).

  • ADHD: Only psychiatrists are able to prescribe medication, which is often considered the first-line treatment for ADHD. Some psychiatrists prefer to conduct ADHD assessments themselves rather than accepting assessment from another provider. To avoid double up on assessment and costs, we recommend people first contact a psychiatrist, who will advise whether they will accept assessment by a clinical psychologist and whether that will expedite wait times.

A screening questionnaire can indicate whether you might meet criteria for ADHD or ASD. While helpful, these questionnaires are not diagnostic. If your score is not consistent with a neurodiverse condition but is close to the cut-off score, you may still benefit from an ADHD and/or ASD assessment.

Comprehensive Neuropsychological Assessment

Starting at $3200 + GST

These assessments provide a comprehensive assessment of a person's cognitive, day-to-day, and psychological functioning with respect to specific questions a person/referrer may have. For example: work capacity, injury or illness outcomes, exploring cognitive causes of symptoms, or evaluating implications of neuropsychological conditions for criminal or civil cases. We aim to conduct thorough and impartial assessments: in forensic or contested matters the conclusions of the assessment may not necessarily favour the party that requested assessment.

Rates vary between $200 to $270 + GST per hour depending on the purposes of the assessment. Assessments for Court hearings / expert witness testimony are charged at $270 + GST per hour.

Comprehensive assessments require approximately 16 - 20 hours. More complex cases requiring additional time will be discussed with the referrer.

Baseline assessments

Cost estimate: $800 + GST

To track changes in cognitive and functional abilities over time and/or following illness or injury, a baseline is needed. We use cognitive screening methods that can be repeated over time to track change if needed. Testing and interview takes approximately 2 hours, and a summary of results is provided.

While we believe every person would benefit from understanding their cognitive baseline, this assessment is especially useful for:

  • People participating in work and leisure activities considered high risk for neurological impacts

  • People taking out a new insurance policy (e.g., health, disability, income protection, and life insurances).

  • People who have a family history of medical conditions that affect cognition (e.g., progressive dementias, familial neurological and cardiovascular conditions).

  • People diagnosed with a new medical condition, where the condition or treatment has the potential to impact cognition and/or psychological wellbeing over time.

Neuro-ability and Intelligence assessments

Cost estimate: $900 to $1200 + GST

This assessment provides a summary of your cognitive and intellectual strengths and weaknesses.

  • The baseline cost includes 1.5 hours of cognitive testing using a range of internationally-recognised cognitive screening measures. These provide a range within which your cognitive abilities (e.g., memory, processing speed, perceptual and verbal abilities) will be estimated to fall within. The cost also includes 1 hour of face to face interview and a summary of results.

  • If full intelligence testing is preferred (providing an IQ score rather than an estimated range), the cost is $1200 + GST.

Consulting and Clinical Supervision

$200 + GST per hour

We provide:

  • Supervision to Clinical and Neuropsychology scope psychologists

  • Consultation and training to government and private organisations
